AI Clothes Changer Preview Upgrade: Keep the Same Photos
Use the AI clothes changer preview upgrade to keep your uploads for Essential Try-On. Learn the credit choices, checkout return, and watermark limits.

For an AI clothes changer preview upgrade, use “Get high quality (same photos)” on an eligible signed-in Free Preview result. The AI clothes changer retains your person photo and outfit reference for a new Essential Try-On generation, subject to credits and verification. It does not sharpen the existing preview or guarantee an identical image.

You have already found an outfit direction you like. The next decision is whether a better-detail attempt is worth making, whether the input photos need fixing first, or whether you only want access to an existing image without its watermark. Those are different tasks. This guide explains the completed-result upgrade and what to check before you continue.
The cover is a conceptual illustration of outfit review, not a demonstration of a generated result.
What does “same photos” actually keep?
The upgrade carries forward the person photo and the outfit reference that are still loaded in your workspace. You do not need to browse for those files again just to move from a completed preview to Essential Try-On. That is useful when the first result already answers your basic style question and you want to examine the garment more closely.
The action starts another generation. It does not use the finished preview as a file to upscale, nor does it lock every fold, shadow, or facial detail from that preview. Expect a fresh interpretation of the original inputs. A cuff, hem, expression, or background edge may look different even when you keep the same photographs.
Keep your original files available. Retained uploads make the current workflow easier; they are not a promise of permanent storage or recovery on another device. If you need the first result for comparison, download it before leaving its result view.
| What you want | Suitable next step | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Another attempt with better garment detail | Completed-preview upgrade to Essential Try-On | A new image from the retained uploads |
| Exactly the same pixels at a larger size | A separate image-resizing workflow | The preview upgrade is a different operation |
| The existing image without a watermark | Review the displayed watermark-access option | Access conditions are separate from generation quality |
| A different garment or a corrected source photo | Return to the input form and replace the relevant file | A new test with changed inputs |
| Detailed edits or several reference images | Review Studio Quality and its paid-access conditions | More editing controls, with no exact-fidelity guarantee |
For the broader choice between experiences, read Free Preview versus Essential Try-On. Here the starting point is a finished preview that you already want to develop.
Upgrade a completed preview in three steps
- Save and inspect the preview. Look at the garment outline, face, cuffs, hands, and background. Decide what you want another generation to improve. Keep the original person and outfit photos available for comparison.
- Use the signed-in result action. On an eligible preview result, select “Get high quality (same photos).” The workspace switches toward Essential Try-On and checks whether your account can cover it, including an available daily claim. Complete any requested human verification.
- Follow the next screen and review the new result. If the account can proceed, the upgrade follows the normal generation path. If it cannot, choose among the displayed credit options. After a checkout return, review the restored form and press Generate yourself.
As of October 14, 2026, Essential Try-On is shown at 10 credits per generation and accepts one outfit reference with basic instructions. The upgrade selects that experience; it does not select Studio Quality. Check the workspace and current pricing before confirming a purchase or another attempt.
The action is shown for eligible signed-in preview results. If you do not see it, check your session and the current result state before assuming a fault. An anonymous result or a result with different access conditions may show a different set of controls. Sign-in alone also does not promise that a completed result will restore its original local uploads.
What if there are not enough credits?
The result action checks whether Essential Try-On is affordable and whether an available daily claim can cover it. If the balance cannot cover the attempt and the claim cannot unlock it, the workspace presents a credit-choice card instead of treating the button press as a successful generation.
Read that card before choosing. The available paths include buying access for the higher-quality attempt, waiting for a future daily claim, or continuing with Free Preview when its conditions allow. None of those choices turns a limited free allowance into unlimited generation.
Waiting for daily credits means coming back and following the account's claim rules. It is not a reservation for a future generation. Choosing another Free Preview still requires the appropriate uploads, verification, allowance, and availability; it also remains a preview rather than an Essential result.
If a daily claim can cover Essential Try-On, the normal claim route may open with your draft preserved. Follow that screen and check the restored inputs on return. The daily-claim path and the purchase-return path have different continuation behavior, so use the instructions on the screen rather than assuming both will start identically.
Check the intended experience, credit cost, and photos before continuing. Having enough credits to generate and having paid-account watermark benefits are separate conditions.
How are uploads kept through checkout?
When you open a supported purchase flow from the preview or credit-choice workspace, AIClothSwap attempts to save a temporary upload draft in that browser. The draft includes your person photo, outfit reference, and relevant form settings, with Essential Try-On selected for the return.
As of October 14, 2026, that temporary draft expires after 30 minutes. Restoration depends on the same account and usable browser storage. Treat it as a convenience for a short checkout round trip. It is not a cloud backup and will not reliably follow you to another browser, another device, or a private browsing session that has been closed.
On a successful restoration, the inputs return to the form without automatically generating. Review the thumbnails and settings, complete any required verification, and press Generate when ready. Purchasing access alone does not mean another outfit image has already been created.
If the form is empty, use your original files to rebuild the request. An expired draft, a different signed-in account, blocked storage, or a longer interruption can prevent restoration. Keep the originals until you have the final result you want. Do not spend another attempt trying to recover files that are no longer present in the form.
Should you fix the photos before upgrading?
Switching experiences cannot reveal a garment detail that neither input shows. Before spending credits, identify whether the weakness comes from generation quality or from missing visual information.
A jacket reference with cut-off sleeves gives little guidance for cuffs. A model photo with crossed arms obscures the front closure. A dark mirror selfie may make navy fabric look black. In each case, replacing the input can be more useful than repeating the same uncertainty at higher quality.
For a virtual try-on, use a person photo that shows the clothing region clearly and an outfit reference that shows the silhouette, neckline, hem, and sleeves. Keep the pose simple where possible. If you only want a new color, the clothes color changer is a more focused starting point than swapping the entire garment.
Shopify's product photography guidance covers practical preparation such as steady camera placement, lighting, and uncluttered backgrounds. These basics also help make a garment reference easier to read. They do not establish that a generated image accurately reproduces a sellable item.
How should you compare the new result?
Compare both results against the original person photo and garment reference, not only against each other. The preview is another interpretation; it should not become the authority for whether a pocket, seam, or button belongs on the garment.
Start at the intended viewing size. Then inspect the clothing boundaries: collar against hair, cuffs against hands, waistband, hem, and any area where one layer overlaps another. Check that the face remains recognizable and that the new image has not changed a person attribute you wanted to preserve.
If the image will support a product listing, compare buying-critical details with real product photography and the approved item record. A polished outfit visualization does not verify fabric behavior, body measurements, or which size to buy. The AI fashion model generator likewise produces concepts that require review before commercial use.
Keep the result only if it serves the original question. If the new image has better texture but invents a closure, reject it for a product-detail use. If it answers a private styling question while leaving small uncertain details, you may decide it is sufficient for that narrower purpose.
Frequently asked questions
Does the preview upgrade use the same photos?
Yes, the completed-preview action reuses the person photo and outfit reference still in the workspace for a new Essential Try-On generation. It does not enlarge the old preview, and the new result can differ.
Can I upgrade a preview with daily credits?
When your account is eligible to claim enough daily credits for Essential Try-On, the upgrade can use the normal daily-claim route. Follow the balance and availability shown in your account; the action does not grant unlimited attempts.
Will returning from checkout generate automatically?
No. A supported checkout return restores an unexpired upload draft when browser storage and the account match. Review the restored inputs, complete any required verification, and press Generate yourself.
Does a higher-quality generation remove the watermark?
Quality and watermark access are separate. A generation using free-account credits can remain watermarked. Paid-account watermark benefits depend on the purchase conditions shown on the site.
